Heartland Crush Opens Iowa Non-GMO Soybean Processing Facility

Supplying a Non-GMO Project Verified, Hexane Free Pressed Soybean Meal and Oil for the Feed and Food Industries.

Heartland Crush LLC, a locally producer-owned and operated soybean crushing facility began crushing non-GMO soybeans August 1, 2017. Heartland has the capacity to crush 1.5 million bushels of non-GMO soybeans annually using a Hexane Free Extrusion process. Heartland’s HC X-Pressed™ soybean meal and crude oil are energy dense, highly digestible ingredients for high-performance rations necessary for the “Natural Products” Meat, Dairy and Egg Industries. Heartland guarantees 99.5 % non-GMO purity and member growers do not use glyphosate raising their crops, providing processors and growers with a nutrient-dense, healthy, clean labeled ingredient.

“The soybeans we process are all high nutrient dense soybeans locally grown here in Iowa. We mechanically process the soybeans, no hexane or other solvents of any kind are used. This process exposes the vitamins and nutrients while keeping the integrity of the grains intact the way nature intended them to be. The producer can use 20% less meal in their rations and get better results. Animals will be healthier, produce more and get to market sooner than before, making HC X-Pressed™ meal very cost-effective” said Plant Manager, Larry Wangsness.

Choice Grain LLC, a non-GMO, Organic supply chain company is marketing Heartland’s HC X-Pressed™ meal and oil. “Heartland’s model provides traceability and quality control protocols from the seed through the fertility, growth, and processing. Consumers want to know where their food comes from, how it was grown, processed and handled. Heartland Crush’s program delivers that to the customer and consumer,” said Tom Kopp, President, Choice Grain.  Heartland’s goal is to be a reliable buyer and supplier of non-GMO soybeans, meal, and oil and expand their processing capabilities into organic soy and other products. They are on the Iowa Interstate Rail line, just off I-80 highway and near several barge facilities.
