We at the Non-GMO Project are excited to welcome Shannon Reigh to the team as Outreach Assistant!
Shannon earned a BS in Biology with a focus in Conservation from Illinois State University. During her studies, she became passionate about ecology and the human impact on ecosystems. Working as the manager on an organic farm, Shannon gained a labored appreciation for our food system. She understands the importance of sustainable farming practices. Shannon brings a unique perspective to the Project with her background in water quality, organic farming, and fisheries.
What interests you about working with the Non-GMO Project- what about this opportunity caught your attention?
My aspirations to pursue a career I believe in brought me to the Non-GMO Project. People have a right to know what is in their food, and contributing to the development of more sustainable food options truly caught my attention.
How do you think your prior experience will help you in working with the Non-GMO Project?
Having worked on a farm and in fisheries, I bring a valuable understanding of our food system to the team. My experience in data collection will assist me in identifying information trends and data organization.
What is important to you about the work you will be doing with the Project?
Every day people make choices about the food that fuels their bodies, and I am excited to contribute to the expansion of Non-GMO Project Verified food choices.
