The Non-GMO Project is excited to welcome Kayla Raley to the team as Operations & HR Coordinator!
After graduating from Western Washington University, Kayla worked as the Non-GMO Project’s first PR Assistant. Her belief in the need for transparency within the food industry brings her back to the organization after nearly two years away.
Before rejoining the project, Kayla worked for an NGO in Guatemala and as a marketing coordinator and community manager for a Seattle-based tech startup. Her passion for organization and interpersonal communication make her a great addition to the Project’s operations team.
In her spare time, Kayla can be found exploring local hiking trails, enjoying live music and spending time with friends.
What interests you about working with the Non-GMO Project – what about this opportunity caught your attention?
I am a strong advocate for transparency within the food industry. Growing up with friends and family with severe food allergies, I developed a keen eye for reading food labels and ingredient panels. I believe every consumer has a right to know what’s in the food they are eating and sharing with their loved ones.
How do you think your prior experience will help you in working with the Non-GMO Project?
In my previous role as a marketing coordinator, I was able to further develop my organizational and problem-solving skills. I thrive in fast-paced environments and cannot wait to contribute my new skill set to the Project.
What is important to you about the work you will be doing with the Project?
I am thrilled to be back with a team that strives to not only provide non-GMO choices, but also education for all consumers. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to make an informed choice when it comes to the products they’re using and consuming.
