Welcome, Erin!

The Non-GMO Project is thrilled to welcome Erin Matchett to the team as our Marketing Manager!

Erin is a California native whose love of the outdoors brought her to the Pacific Northwest. Erin is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Communication and a minor in American History. She also holds a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School and is admitted to the State Bar of California. Erin’s legal studies took her to London, Italy and Hawaii, and she strives to be a citizen of the world. Erin is passionate about providing consumers with the information necessary to make informed choices about the products they purchase.
Prior to joining the Non-GMO Project, Erin worked in legal clearance at a major television studio in Los Angeles. She is excited to bring her expertise in copyright and trademark law to the Non-GMO Project.
In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling, paddle boarding on Santa Catalina Island and hiking with her family and beloved rescue dog, Gigi.
What interests you about working with the Non-GMO Project – what about this opportunity caught your attention?
I strongly believe that everyone has a right to know what is in their food and deserves an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms. I am beyond excited to be a part of a marketing and communications team that spreads this important message.
How do you think your prior experience will help you in working with the Non-GMO Project?
I have extensive experience in advising television productions about the proper way(s) to use (or not use) third-party trademarks. I look forward to shifting my perspective a bit to assist participating brands in properly using the Non-GMO Project‘s trademarks on packaging and in promotional materials.
What is important to you about the work you will be doing with the Project?
When it comes to the food and products we consume, there is nothing more important to me than transparency. As consumers, we have the right to know what our goods are made of and how they are made. In turn, it’s important that organizations like the Non-GMO Project do their best to provide accurate and trustworthy information to the public. I am thrilled I have been given the opportunity to assist in this process!
