Saskatoon, SK – March 1, 2012 – Three Farmers has made a commitment to create natural and traceable food products for their customers and this commitment has just been bumped up a notch! Three Farmers has just announced that their entire line of Camelina Oils is now been Non-GMO Project Verified. The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only independent verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO (genetically modified organisms) avoidance. All products will bear the Non-GMO Project verification mark on the front of the bottle!
“Our verified products are produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard—that means we must follow rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance, including segregation and traceability to prevent contamination” says Natasha Vandenhurk, Director of Operations for Three Farmers. “We are incredibly excited to now be a part of the Non-GMO Project initiative. As reflected in our own traceability program for our products, we think it is important that our customers know what exactly is in their food and where it is coming from.”
About Three Farmers Camelina Oil
Three Farmers Camelina Oil is the first and only oil of its kind available within Canada. Camelina is an ancient oil that has been long known for its light flavour and highly nutritious characteristics. It is a cold-pressed oil, rich in Omega-3 and at the same time it is very heat stable (475°F smoke point). This combination of characteristics is very unique in an oil product. It’s uses in the kitchen range from salads and dips to sautéing, roasting, searing, and even popping your popcorn!
Three Farmers sprung from a passion for farming and the drive to create a connection between producer and consumer. The traceability program that we have implemented is a key part of who we are. Canpressco believes that by making themselves available and known to their customers, they are creating relationships that are based on trust and understanding. This is why each bottle of Three Farmers Camelina Oil is traceable back to the farmer and the field in which it was grown.
