PORTLAND, OR – Murphy Commodities is pleased to announce immediate availability of four Non-GMO Project Verified oils: Organic Soybean Oil, Organic Canola Oil, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil and High Oleic Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil. These ingredients have been audited and verified by globally recognized certifying authorities NSF International and the Non-GMO Project.
All products are available in bulk tanker trucks, 275 gal totes, 55 gal drums and the 35 lb JIBS. These sizes support large-scale operations, niche manufacturers and distributors selling into commissaries, restaurants and other food-service industries. High Oleic oils are often suitable replacements for hydrogenated oils, making a healthier food product and a cleaner label.
Said President Dave Loboy, “We knew there was a significant need for non-GMO ingredients and believed there was a more effective and efficient way to bring these products to market.” Grains and Oilseeds are typically produced on such a large scale that the supply chain from farm to manufacturing is not segregated. This presents a challenge in order to maintain product integrity while obtaining the scale required for farmers and processors.
Loboy added, “We helped communicate the needs of our customers and our supply partners responded quite well. We’re very excited to offer organics and non-GMO food ingredients for a consumer who is both smarter and more demanding. The many statewide non-GMO ballot measures underscores the desire for choice and transparency.”
