On October 17th, Jimbo’s…Naturally! in San Diego held its annual Anniversary Sale. Each year, Jimbo’s chooses a non-profit organization to receive 5% of the day’s proceeds. They also offer customers the opportunity to donate their 5% in savings to the chosen non-profit. This year, we’re excited to report that Jimbo’s chose the Non-GMO Project!
As a result of the Anniversary Sale, Jimbo’s donated $12,250.08 to the Project. This generous donation will go a long way in funding the Project’s many activities. But funding isn’t the only thing that Jimbo’s provided: as part of their Anniversary Sale, we had three Project representatives stationed at three of Jimbo’s four stores, answering customers’ questions and letting them know who we are and what we do. It was great way to reach out to consumers directly and was therefore instrumental in our efforts to provide consumers with an informed choice when it comes to GMOs. We truly appreciate Jimbo’s for providing us with this opportunity and we’re excited to begin working with other retailers on similar fundraising events.
