Barry Callebaut Announces Three Additional Non-GMO Project Verified Products

CHICAGO – (February 1, 2017)Barry Callebaut – the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products – today announced that three additional chocolates have been verified by the Non-GMO Project. Barry Callebaut’s Organic Milk Chocolate Callets ™, Organic Milk Chocolate EZmelt and Organic White Chocolate 1000 Count Chips were recently verified by the organization. These are the first milk and white chocolates that Barry Callebaut has had verified, and the addition of these products brings Barry Callebaut’s total of Non-GMO Project Verified products to 26 items.

Barry Callebaut’s Non-GMO Project Verified products provide the industry with the ingredients needed to address a trending shift in consumer perception regarding GMOs. A September 2016 report by the Mintel Group noted that 44% of new food products introduced between 2013-2016 claimed to be non-GMO, noting that companies are responding to increased consumer demand.
