Isaac was born in hot and dry Boise, Idaho but grew up in the hills and rain of Western Washington. Throughout high school, he was certain he wanted to be an aeronautical engineer, but after writing for the student newspaper senior year he decided to become a writer instead.
He graduated from Western Washington University in 2007 with a degree in Environmental Journalism and promptly started a job as a reporter for the Bellingham Business Journal. During his four years covering local business issues, Isaac learned a lot about sustainable agriculture, civic government, manufacturing and the restaurant industry. Joining the Non-GMO Project combines his knowledge of the business world with his love of food and the environment.
Outside of work, Isaac is most often riding his bike or working in the garden with his wife, Jen.
