~ Little Me Tea Kids Drink Is Proud To Be Organic, No Sugar Added, And Now Non-GMO Project Verified~

image005Big Time Tea is proud to announce that they have received Non-GMO Project Verification for Little Me Tea, their first-to-market, no sugar added, certified organic tea and juice boxes. Little Me Tea has never used GMO ingredients in their products, and this third-party verification allows consumers to shop with confidence and retailers to trust that they are carrying a quality product with full transparency in their stores. “We are delighted to be an industry leader providing trustworthy and responsibly-produced ingredients in Little Me Tea,” said founder, Melinda Hicks. “We have always believed in creating healthier drink options for children, and this latest Non-GMO Project Verification is another way for consumers to know we want what is best for their kids.”
The healthy alternative to juice, Little Me Tea is caffeine-free tea sweetened only with fruits and veggies and boasts the lowest sugar content of any kids’ drink on the market with just six grams of sugar (from juice) and 25 calories per 6.75 ounce juice box. Available in two delicious flavors, Julia’s Tropical Tea and Zane’s Grape Tea, each is made with a blend of white, Rooibos, hibiscus and chamomile teas that offer a host of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Little Me Tea is also gluten-free, vegan, contains no synthetic ascorbic acid and is now Non-GMO Project Verified.

Little Me Tea joins over 18,700 products verified by the Non-GMO Project since 2010. GMOs or “genetically modified organisms,” have not been proven safe for human consumption. GMOs are plants or animals that have been genetically engineered with DNA from bacteria, viruses, and other animals and plants. These experimental combinations of genes cross the natural species barrier and have not been proven safe. More than 60 countries worldwide, not including the United States, have banned or restricted the use of GMOs. The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only independent verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance. Their verification proves that Little Me Tea is produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard.

Little Me Tea is available at select Whole Foods Markets and independent markets throughout the US.  Info: www.littlemetea.com

About Little Me Tea

Melinda Hicks wanted a truly healthy kids beverage for her daughter, not just one that was a little “less bad.”  While options existed for lower sugar, some still had added sugar, and none were truly healthy, so she created Little Me Tea, the first and only organic tea beverage for kids. With Little Me Tea, kids aren’t just getting less sugar, they’re also getting the fabulous health benefits of tea and organic fruits and veggies.
