The Leading Allergy-Friendly Brand Achieves Non-GMO Project Verification on 24 Products

(CHICAGO, IL) Enjoy Life Foods, the number one brand in the allergy-friendly foods category, is pleased to announce that it has received the official Non-GMO Project Verification on all of its top food products. This benchmark places Enjoy Life Foods at the top of the gluten-free/allergy-friendly food chain, as no other “free from” company in the natural foods category has more verified non-GMO products. GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology, and it is estimated that GMOs are now present in more than 80 percent of packaged products in the average U.S. or Canadian grocery store. Enjoy Life Foods has made it their mission to create delicious food products made with pure ingredients, and this verification is yet another triumph for the company.

“It has been an incredibly long process, but this verification is something our company is extremely proud of,” said Joel Warady, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Enjoy Life. “We’ve been working together with the Non-GMO Project to ensure the sustained availability of non-GMO food products and to be leading the industry is, of course, a huge accomplishment.”

The verification will ensure that Enjoy Life fans will be able to find their favorite treat in even more stores across the nation, as it will greatly expand their product reach in the natural foods realm. Being a verified company is yet another big win for the food company; they have previously enjoyed inclusion on Inc. magazine’s 500/5000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies and were recently named a “Standout Small to Medium Sized Business” by the editors of Consumer Goods Technology magazine. Enjoy Life Foods began as a class assignment; Company founder Scott Mandell wrote the company’s business plan during his MBA program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. In 2001, Scott traded in his banker’s suit for an apron, and Enjoy Life Foods was born. He began with the mission to create great-tasting, allergy-friendly snacks, and today the product line has grown to 40 different foods including cookies, granola, cereal, snack bars, seed and fruit mixes, chocolate bars, baking chocolate, and healthy lentil-based chips, all of which are sold in natural food, conventional grocery stores, and mass retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as specialty online retailers. In January 2006, the company was the first to receive independent gluten-free certification for all of its products from the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO).
